Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ST Remote Pro (“ST Remote Pro”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application (“App”) and our website at stremotepro.com (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy together with our Terms of Use.

1. Who we are

ST Remote Pro is an independent software project for controlling Bose SoundTouch-compatible hardware. For privacy inquiries, use the contact form on this site (we do not list a public support email here to reduce spam).

2. Information we collect

Account & authentication. If you create an account, we may collect:

App & device control. To control speakers on your network, the App communicates locally (for example, over your Wi‑Fi) with your hardware. We do not need to route your live audio through our servers for basic local control.

Streaming provider linking (optional). If you connect third-party music services (for example Spotify or Apple Music) through our backend, we store provider tokens and related metadata as described in-app and encrypted on the server to enable those features.

Website & support. Our website may collect what you submit on forms (waitlist, support), standard server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps), and cookies or similar technologies if we add analytics later (this policy will be updated).

3. How we use information

4. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

Where GDPR applies, we rely on appropriate bases such as: performance of a contract (to provide the Services you request), legitimate interests (security, product improvement, proportionate analytics), consent where required (for example certain marketing or optional integrations), and legal obligation.

5. Sharing of information

We may share information with:

We do not sell your personal information for money.

6. Data retention

We retain information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, plus a reasonable period afterward for backups, disputes, and legal compliance. You may request deletion where applicable (see Section 8).

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information (including encryption for sensitive server-side secrets where implemented). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us via Support. You may also adjust permissions in your device settings (for example Apple App Tracking, microphone, local network).

9. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. International transfers

If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our vendors operate.

11. Third-party links

The Services may link to third-party sites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Where required, we will provide additional notice.
